Mr Gaskell had the Year 3 and 4 pupils working hard straight from the start - although they seemed to be laughing a lot as well!
Their novel this term is the Butterfly Lion which tells a compelling story about a boy who visits an old lady and hears her tale of heroism in the First World War.
National Poetry Day - today the class were all anxious to show off their recitation skills. Mr Gaskell has recorded their performances and will be sending home copies of the CD he made. well done everyone!

Spring 2010
The class finished their Tudor Houses (see gallery for pictures) and have moved onto studying Geography this term.
Autumn 2009
This half term as part of their PE Years 2 and 3 are learning how to have confidence in the water. They are learning the basics of water safety and thoroughly enjoying themselves whilst soaking their teachers with all their splashing!
Mrs Clayton teaches this class Music on one afternoon each week. In this particular lesson they had to be the musical accompaniment to a poem about a scary castle. You should see the other pictures on the Gallery! (easily found from the Home page)

Year 3 have enjoyed some Tennis taster sessions during the term and this is in addition to their swimming and games lessons.
Some great results as the pupils try to re-create portraits of Henry VIII as part of thier cross-curricular art lessons. Seasonal work has also been high on the agenda as pupils took part in some outdoor lessons.
