Our pupils have been invited to become part of the Gellifor Community Windband this year. This is run by Mrs Angela Jones on Thursday afternoons during term time at a cost of just £1 per session. In November a 'Play Day' is being arranged which will give the children the opportunity to learn alongside some very high level musicians.
As a good number of our pupils take advantage of the peripatetic music service offered through the William Matthias Trust, we hope that many of them will decide to join this Band in October.
They will be escorted each week by Mr Gaskell who teaches the Lower Juniors and Year 2, but do need to be able to make their own transport arrangements.

A recent Club meeting gave the children the opportuinity to learn to play a song on the recorder! Everyone did really well and played along to a CD track! Very impressive for our first attempt!
An active Urdd Club has been held at the school for several years and provides an opportunity for junior children to take part in fun activities whilst practising and developing their Welsh language skills.
Mrs Dowell organises this fun club every Friday after school and asks for just 50p to cover the cost of refreshments and materials for craft and cookery sessions.
Last year some of the pupils entered local Art and Craft competitions organised by the Urdd movement and this year we are hoping to take part in some of the other exciting events organised by them as well.
All pupils are encouraged to join the National Urdd during the Autumn Term, whether they attend this club or not. This ensures that they can take part in any of the numerous competitions open during the year - singing, dancing, reciting, art, instrumental etc
