I graduated from Bangor University in 2008 after following the BEd degree course in Primary Education. I recently joined Ysgol Llanbedr to teach the Upper Juniors part time and I am enjoying every moment. I teach the children aspects of Mathematics and English, as well as Geography, History, Design and Technology and Welsh. I encourage the children to use as much incidental Welsh as possible as I believe it is very important in developing children’s Second Language Welsh skills. I am originally from Penmaenmawr in Conwy and when I am not teaching in Ysgol Llanbedr I work in schools in the Conwy area. In my spare time I enjoy going for walks, going to the gym (which is a rare occasion at the moment!), reading a good book and shopping.

I have taught in Denbighshire for many years in a variety of contexts and have been working in Ysgol Llanbedr for the last 3 years.
I have responsibility for the Lower Juniors and in the morning my class consists of Years 3 and 4, whilst each afternoon I work with years 2 and 3: these younger pupils also benefit from the skills of teaching Assistant Mrs Jones.
My interests centre around music and my smallholding: My wife and I play for many local theatre groups and on our smallholding we try to grow our own veg and care for a variety of animals including horses, sheep, chickens, cats and dogs.

As the Deputy Head teacher at Ysgol Llanbedr for many years, I know our school and community very well indeed.
My particular responsibility is for the Foundation Phase, although during my time here its predecessors have also been known as 'The Infants' and 'Key Stage One'!
During the last 2 years we have implemented the new Foundation Phase curriculum whole heartedly. This now provides an exciting environment in which our youngest pupils can thrive and develop to their full potential. To enhance provision we have a Nursery Nurse, Mrs Martin (NNEB), and a Teaching Support Assistant, Mrs Hewitt, with us throughout the day. We work closely together to ensure that we offer a stimulating, relevant, and well balanced provision for all our youngest pupils.
